Masterclass: 'The Art of Action'

Introduction:
Internationally acclaimed actor, stunt coordinator and Action Choreographer Roger Yuan will host a Masterclass on behalf of Filmbase Training at The Ark in Temple Bar on Saturday 9th June as part of the Temple Bar Film Festival. This unique Masterclass opens up the world of Action Choreography to professional actors, potential stunt performers, directors, editors and camera people. The objective is to provide a better understanding of camera angles and how a dynamic performance is best expressed and captured for film.
Performance:
Roger along with a team of actors will perform a number of choreographed live action sequences. Cameras will be introduced to the sequence with the footage projected live to a large on-site screen. The dynamics of shooting stunts and choreographed performance pieces will be demonstrated and the techniques utilised will later be deconstructed.
A Q&A with Roger will be held between 5pm and 6pm to explore the symbiosis of actor and camera choreography.
About Roger:
Yuan's acting career includes roles in: Batman Begins, Bulletproof Monk, Shanghai Noon, Lethal Weapon 4, Red Corner, Syriana, Once Upon a Time in China and Once Upon a time in America.
As Stunt/Action Coordinator his many credits include: Batman Returns, Ella Enchanted, Return of the Pink Panther and Strength and Honour.
Roger is also a World Middleweight Champion United Fighting Arts Federation Champion (1989-1996).
Specialised training courses include: Martial Arts, Boxing, Weapons, Dynamic Strength Agility, Flexibility & Co-ordination Skills, Fight Choreography, Camera Angle Awareness, and Physical Role-play.
Roger teaches fighting seminars in the USA, France, Australia and South Africa.
