Hosted as part of the 'Made in Temple Bar' Festival
The growth of digital camera technology and the explosion in popularity of sites such as YouTube has enabled amateur, as well as professional filmmakers, to shoot, upload and share their films with the world. As part of the 'Made in Temple Bar' Festival Filmbase and TBCT will present a special series of seminars over one evening, designed to highlight developments, trends and opportunities for filmmakers in maximising the impact of their online films. Covering all aspects of planning, shooting, formatting, uploading and distributing films digitally, the workshops will highlight insights, techniques and best practice advice for filmmakers of all levels.
Session One
How To Make a Killer Internet Video - Simon Walker
Simon is an Apple Certified Master Trainer and will outline in an easy to digest format a series of technical tips and tricks designed to help filmmakers get the most out of their online videos. From camera formats, shooting tips, planning, editing and uploading Simon will ensure that filmmakers learn how to create films that will make an impact online, and just as importantly how to avoid technical mistakes that can ruin your best work.
Session Two
The Rubberbandits - How to Make Money on YouTube
A serious seminar about how to utilise web platforms to get your films seen. Joe Clarke of Lovely Men, 'The Rubberbandits' Manager, discusses the phenomenon, access to audiences and revenue streams.
From YouTube Hits to selling content on iTunes and movie subscription sites, 'The Rubberbandits' have used and abused every format to get their work out into the world.
Joe will attempt to draw a straight line between making your project, getting it out there and getting paid for it.
Session Three
Media That Crosses Platforms - Triona Campbell
Triona Campbell is a founder and director of beActive, a transmedia company with offices in London, Dublin, Lisbon and Sao Paulo, Brazil. An award-winning producer of internet and television series, Triona will outline opportunities for filmmakers to develop their stories outside of traditional television and film routes.
