GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATIONS

2004 Guidelines:
TG4 and Filmbase invite submissions for the third season of Lasair. Awards are open to drama, animation and other fictional works in the Irish language to be shot on DVCam and finished to tape. Up to six awards will be made.
Submissions should be between 8 and 26 minutes duration.
Cash awards averaging €10,000 will be made to the successful candidates with a further award of equipment and facilities.
Some awards may be higher or lower at the discretion of the panel. Submissions should be pitched according to the cash and facility award available to ensure completion under Lasair. (However, if additional money is available to the production before submission, this will be taken into account).
Applications to Filmbase should include:
- 3 copies of the full and final script. (2 copies for readers should not be marked with any information other than script title).
Other conditions;· - Awards are made to directors.
- Full time students are ineligible.
- Scripts and supporting documentation will not be returned.
- The applicant must be a fully paid up member of Filmbase before applying.
- Principal photography must begin within three months of issue of contract.
- A final broadcast master (on BETA SP) must be delivered to Filmbase no later than six months after the start of principal photography.
- Previous award winners are ineligible for further Filmbase/TG4 awards for one year after the delivery of project.
