Founded in 1986 Filmbase is a support organization for the independent film and video sector in Ireland.

Filmbase fulfills this role by facilitating training & development, equipment and edit suite hire, information services, representation and lobbying for the low budget film sector.

Filmbase also publishes Film Ireland magazine and the Ireland on Screen directory. We also administer a number of Short Film Award schemes.

Membership

Membership of Filmbase is open to anyone who has an interest in film. For further information please visit the membership section of this site.

Ireland on Screen is a directory of Irish production companies working in film and television, it also contains details of the many companies offering facilities and services to the Irish production sector.

The directory can be purchased directly from Filmbase and is also available through the bookshop in the Irish Film Institute and other film centres around the country.
